The DPP has appointed Rowan de Pomerai into the role of Head of Delivery and Growth. He will be responsible for evolving the DPP’s technology strategy and delivery, as well as business development.
de Pomerai joins the DPP from Ooyala, where he was Professional Services Director, EMEA. Previously he worked as a Technologist at the BBC, and then as a Senior Technical Manager and Strategist at ITV. In his role at ITV, de Pomerai was responsible for production modernisation, including the introduction of file delivery. During this time he also supported the DPP as its Production Technology Lead, and was the author of the DPP publication 10 Things You Need To Know About UHD.
“We are delighted that Rowan is joining the DPP leadership team,” says DPP Managing Director Mark Harrison. “The DPP is growing rapidly, and Rowan brings knowledge and experience of the whole supply chain – from content production, to the supplier community to the content distributors. This range of insight will benefit both us and our Member companies as we help shape the future of the media industry.”
de Pomerai will work alongside Harrison and Business Director Kelvin Jones to shape the strategy of the DPP and to extend its network, which already includes over 340 companies drawn from across the media supply chain, and from all over the world.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the DPP at such an exciting time in its growth,” says Rowan de Pomerai. “I’ve seen first-hand the benefits the DPP delivers to its members as both a broadcaster and a supplier, so I’m eager to share that benefit with a growing membership of top-tier media organisations around the globe. I’m looking forward to working with the excellent DPP team to deliver on our ambitious plans.”
Rowan de Pomerai will take up his position with the DPP in mid-August. He will play a key part in the DPP’s engagements at IBC 2018, which will include activities around IMF for Broadcast and Online, News Exchange Metadata and monetisation of online video.
