Five years ago today the DPP was born. We’d been around for a few years, informally, bringing file delivery to the media industry. But on 1 April 2015 the DPP became a real, permanent thing.
We’d found we were good at bringing together the whole media supply chain to solve problems, and spot opportunities – and people told us that had real value.
But we had to prove it! Prove it well enough for them to become members, and to sponsor our work. It was pretty mind focusing.
And that’s what’s given the DPP its DNA. In order to offer value to our members we have to be completely focused on understanding what companies need to know, who they need to meet, and what problems they need to solve, if they’re going to thrive.
But what a privilege it is to gain that knowledge.
On day one we had seven members. Five years on we have more than 400.
And we feel lucky to work with every single one of them.
And for those of you not yet in the DPP community, we hope you’ll join us soon so that we can make the next five even better, together.
