As our industry has become more reliant on IP networks, software, and cloud, some feel that a lack of standardisation is a major problem, while others see traditional standards processes as outdated.
The Truth About Standards project explores trends in interoperability, from formal standards to open source. The project will include a major survey and a range of interviews that will uncover the views of experts, and shed light on the realities of standards adoption.
This online webcast will reflect on the findings from the project, shed light on the realities of standards adoption, and provide insight on how media companies are investing their resources today - and how they should do so in future.
If you experience any problems registering for DPP events or watching any online events, please contact events@thedpp.com.
Interoperability is crucial to an effective global media supply chain. And most DPP members feel that standardisation is an important part of interoperability. But they also tell us that standardisation processes can be slow, political, and difficult to navigate.
That's why the DPP is conducting a unique survey, supported by Ross Video, to find out what the industry really thinks and does about standards. The findings will be published in a new DPP report: The Truth About Standards.
We would very much like you to provide your views by completing our survey.
It will take around 20 minutes to complete. You will be credited in the report as a contributor to the work, but your responses in the survey will be kept confidential.
