Media Tech CEOs focused on new product launches, AI and supplier partnerships, DPP's new Media Tech CEO Survey reveals

The DPP has released its first ever Media Tech CEO Survey report revealing the perspectives of Chief Executives at major technology providers serving the media and broadcast industry.

The DPP Media Tech CEO Survey 2025 findings reveal a striking confidence among vendor leaders, contrasting sharply with their assessment of the media industry's financial health and the conservative budget outlook of their primary customers, Media CTOs.

The inaugural DPP Media Tech CEO Survey — enabled by Executive Sponsors Dalet and Mediagenix — received responses from 70 participating Media Tech CEOs and the equivalent media business unit leaders at large global technology companies. It provides a fascinating overview of the industry’s strategic priorities, market challenges, and key technology investment areas for the coming year.

Key findings from the DPP Media Tech CEO Survey 2025 include:

  • Media Tech CEOs are bullish about the financial outlooks for their organisations, with 83% forecasting revenue increases and 70% an increase in profit. This is despite acknowledging significant challenges among their customer base.

  • New product launches are the No 1 strategic focus for Media Tech CEOs, but a major hurdle is recruiting the technology, product and sales talent to develop, manage and sell their technologies and services.

  • Artificial intelligence is core to the product roadmap of 40% of Media Tech suppliers. And while many Media Tech CEOs believe the latest AI innovations may be overhyped, leaders advocate responsible leadership to make sure any reshaping of the industry happens for the better.

  • Developing strategic partnerships with other suppliers is a key part of the growth strategy for more than 40% of CEOs, while 85% are at least proactive in seeking to form partnerships and participate in vendor ecosystems in order to better deliver quality experiences for their customers.

The research also reveals some striking alignments with media and entertainment companies and the state of the industry in general showcased in the DPP Media CTO Survey — an industry-leading research initiative highlighting the priorities, challenges and investment focus of the Chief Technology Officers at major media, news, broadcast and entertainment companies.

"The key finding of the DPP Media Tech CEO Survey 2025 is a clear paradox: while Media Tech CEOs express high confidence in the health and growth prospects of their own companies, they acknowledge that the broader media and broadcast industry — and in particular their customer base — is facing major challenges," says DPP Editorial Director Edward Qualtrough, the report author. "This dynamic creates a significant, immediate opportunity for vendors to move beyond traditional sales models and act as genuine, consultative partners, helping media companies drive the transformation and efficiency required to succeed in a turbulent market."

Participating Media Tech CEOs added that the initiative has showcased a series of important insights and action points that technology providers and media companies can approach with a common goal.

"The findings of the DPP Media Tech CEO Survey 2025 underscore a pivotal shift in our industry: success now depends on moving beyond traditional media supply chains to embrace proactive content-first orchestration as a foundation for data-driven automation and optimisation," says Mediagenix CEO Fabrice Maquignon. "The findings confirm our vision that productized partnerships and deep integration are not just strategic advantages; they are the foundation for the next generation of media operations that seamlessly and profitably connect content to audiences at scale."

"The inaugural DPP Media Tech CEO Survey sets a new benchmark for understanding the forces shaping our industry," says Dalet CEO Santiago Solanas. "Its findings — highlighting the importance of deeper partnerships, the transformative potential of AI, and the urgency of delivering value with agility — resonate strongly with our beliefs at Dalet. This report is an essential guide for CEOs navigating the complexities of today's media and entertainment landscape, offering actionable insights to drive innovation and collaboration."
