Staff/ermanent role, full time. Hybrid working, based in London. Reports to COO.

World leading media industry organisation needs a Marketing & Communications Manager

The DPP - which is a leading international media industry organisation - is looking for a Marketing & Communications Manager to join its team. It’s an opportunity to work in a dynamic, diverse and successful team to help shape how we communicate and engage with leading industry professionals.

Who we are

The DPP is the international network for media and technology companies, with well over 500 member companies. We work with many of the biggest names in the media industry, such as Amazon, Disney, Google, Paramount, Warner Bros Discovery, Apple, Meta, BBC, RTL, Sky, ZDF, and many many more.

We have quickly established a reputation as the media industry’s leading professional organisation. We have a unique ability to bring media companies and their suppliers together, to gain insight, build networks, and create business opportunities.

We also have a reputation for being highly productive and effective. The DPP team is popular and respected - and its network is incredible.

What we do

The DPP has four main areas of activity:

  1. We organise and deliver a huge number of events of different types and sizes, and in a number of countries
  2. We research and publish around a dozen insight reports each year - ranging from consumer trends, to industry surveys, to explorations of  the latest tech developments in areas such as AI
  3. We enable collaborations between our member companies
  4. We undertake bespoke projects for our member companies - such as events, presentations and consultancy

Examples of both our forthcoming and past events & Insight Reports  can be found on the DPP website at thedpp.com

We pride ourselves on being a quality brand that delivers excellence in everything we do. We are known for being responsive, solution focused, business aware and relevant. We are obsessed with delivering value to current and prospective customers. Our communications are always clear and easy to consume and understand.

The way the DPP communicates stands out for three reasons:

  1. We think carefully about what our customers need to know
  2. We take time to understand our customers’ needs
  3. We personalise our messages

The Role

You will work directly with the CEO, CCO and COO, and you’ll lead our marketing and communications team.

You will be an important individual in our team helping to take the DPP to the next level of its growth both in terms of revenue and profile within the worldwide media industry.

The role will bring you into contact with people from a huge range of media companies - from major international broadcasters and global technology giants to an enormous range of hardware and software vendors, startups, and production companies.

The person in this role will:

  • Be accountable for the overall marketing and communications of the DPP.
  • Create effective marketing plans for all DPP activity and ensure those plans are targeted for the appropriate audience.
  • Manage a Marketing Executive who assists in developing those plans, and executing them.
  • Manage communications to members, promote our work, support account management by building relationships, and maximise the engagement members have with our outputs.
  • Manage communications to non-members: supporting our membership growth by promoting the DPP’s brand and its outputs and generating membership sales leads.
  • Work with the Technology Strategist to articulate business requirements for how our technology stack, including our website, should support our marketing activity, and provide day-to-day management and ownership of our marketing tools.
  • Work with the Head of Member Engagement to develop sponsorship and revenue opportunities associated with our events, reports and other outputs.
  • Work with our editorial team to maximise the impact of our content.
  • Enable us to understand our effectiveness and develop the DPP as a data-led company, by turning our marketing and engagement data into actionable business insights.
  • Report to the senior management team on marketing KPIs.

The kind of person we’re looking for

We are looking for someone who is self-starting and tenacious, and who gets excited by the opportunity to build a brand and delight customers.

We succeed through the relationships we build with people. So we see offline and online marketing as equally important. We are a business-to-business organisation, and focus our communications on the ways professionals like to interact with us.

This is a key role in a small but high profile and fast-growing organisation. It would suit someone with experience creating and executing a marketing strategy; who is a great communicator, both in person and in writing; who is entrepreneurial by nature; enjoys building relationships and having a public profile; and is excited by the opportunity to work closely with the leaders of a young, ambitious company.

To be successful you’re going to need:

  • Strong marketing and communication skills.
  • Experience developing and executing a marketing strategy that delivers against business objectives.
  • Confidence with using a wide range of online and software tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to assimilate a large volume of data to identify trends and messages that matter.
  • The interpersonal skills that make you an effective member of our team.
  • An ability to solve problems.
  • Good writing skills.
  • An ability to work to deadlines.

Some more about The DPP

The DPP was founded in 2015, so it is still a young and growing company. We are based in London, but operate internationally. In this role you will occasionally travel abroad.

We are known for being responsive and relevant. We are obsessed with delivering great value to current and prospective customers, and that’s what we discuss as a team all the time.

We are a team that cares passionately about our values of openness, diversity and inclusion.

We have a hybrid working policy. At present the whole team comes into the London office on a Wednesday and Thursday - but on the other three days you are free to choose whether to work at home or in the office.

We are very transparent - so as a member of the DPP team you will get to see how the business is performing, and be part of the discussion about how we continue to grow.

We are constantly discussing, as a team, how we can do better. That means we encourage opinions from everyone in the team about everything we do.

We are very productive - we generate a lot of outputs and activity - so people who are very output focused enjoy working for us.

We have a great range of staff benefits:

  • 25 days annual leave
  • Discretionary bonus scheme
  • DPP Pension Scheme
  • Additional birthday leave
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Electric Car leasing scheme
  • BUPA health cash plan
  • Bi-monthly team social events
