DPP Showcases Innovative Start-Ups

The DPP has today published a report from their latest Meet The… event. Meet The Rising Stars brought together seven exciting new start-up companies who are all DPP Members to share their innovative ideas for solving the challenges of today’s rapidly-evolving media industry.

The Meet The Rising Stars report summarises this exclusive DPP discussion – highlighting the ways these new companies are busy disrupting existing business models.

“Disruption is a word that is often used very generally.” said DPP Managing Director, Mark Harrison. “But these Rising Star companies are the actual disrupters who are using their insights into the needs of media businesses to offer radically new ways of working.”

The DPP held this special event in partnership with media business specialists Kingston Smith, and featured DPP Members Auditionist, Base Media Cloud, Limecraft, M2A Media, Screenhits, Seenit, and Sundog Media Toolkit.

The report highlights four themes:

  • The speed and scale of change
  • Credibility and trust
  • Managing content in the cloud
  • Quality

“Production is now split between two different schools of thought,” said Seenit Founder Emily Forbes. “You’ve got traditional production that continues to break new ground, and then there are the new breed of creators producing high engagement content on their phones and cameras. As we become more global, these two ways of creating content are coming together and we’re so excited to be invited to events like this from the DPP to discuss with potential customers how we can help them achieve their ambitions.”

The DPP’s next report will reveal the trends at this year’s CES (Consumer Electronics Show).  This will be followed by the DPP’s 2017 Predictions, created using the unique insight of DPP Members, and sponsored by Equinix.  The Predictions will be revealed at BVE (Broadcast Video Expo) during a special keynote session in London on 1st March.
