The HPA Tech Retreat UK returns to Heythrop Park Resort in Oxfordshire 11 – 13 July 2017 for three jam-packed days of challenges, inspiration, and engagement, featuring the elements that make the original Tech Retreat special: the Supersession, a curated Innovation Zone, Breakfast Roundtables, networking and social events beyond compare, and a full, curated conference.
DPP will offer the following sessions on Thu 13 July:
09:00 – 09:30 Decoding CES 2017 – In a unique presentation and report for HPA UK Tech Retreat 2016, DPP Managing Director, Mark Harrison, analysed the annual Consumer Electronics Show since 2010 to reveal the important long-term technology trends behind the annual hype. In this special update, Mark looks at the key themes to emerge at CES 2017 and asks what they tell us about the longer term picture. He also predicts what we can we expect to see at CES 2018, and beyond. Of all the reports about CES, this is the one that puts the world’s biggest trade show into the specific context of the media industry – and separates the noise from the trends that really matter.
09:30 – 09:45 Containing the Format Explosion – with Andy Wilson, DPP Head of Business Development. The media world loves a new format, it enables all kinds of creativity – from higher frame rates and high dynamic range to VR. But how can we work together to help to build interoperability and efficiency? The DPP will outline a new approach for Mastering TV – working in partnership with SMPTE, NABA and the EBU to create Broadcast IMF. And find out about how our News Exchange work may mean a surprising change to production workflows in the future….
Plus Andy will also chair a panel on Connectivity at 11am.
